We just moved back to Tx from Florida and it's hard finding people around our area that are social nudist. I can't beleive people have such hangups. If they would just relax and not always think about how they look or how someone might think about them they could be a nudist and have a great time and really relax. I am 57 and my husband is 52, no we are not Barbie and Ken nor do we want to be. We are your avarage man and woman, so what. I don't have a 20 yr old body but I do have curves, but thats not really the issue here.Thats not why we are nudist. It's just plain relaxing. 8-)

Hi all,

We are a couple in our early forties (M/F) that live in the Texas panhandle and love nudity. We have lots of open space to enjoy the nude lifestyle but no clubs. Looking for other couples in the area that enjoy the same. Maybe we can get somthing going.

Let us know.

Those of you who are familiar with the issues surrounding Nude Youth Camps, which are held in many areas of the country every summer, will know that it was Rep. Mark Foley, R-FL who initiated the first legislative actions, targeting White Tail Park of Virginia's Youth Camp program.

It is interesting, therefore that Mr. Foley has resigned from his post in the House as of Sept. 29 following the revelation of a questionable email exchange between him and a Congressional Page boy from Louisiana who was age 16 at the time.

Conserving Resource By Staying Nude

In the heat of the summer, many Texans focus on ways to conserve resources, especially water. In particular, those who live in rural areas where their main source of water is a well must take steps to conserve water so that there will, hopefully, be enough to carry them through to the next rainy season when the wells will be replenished.

When making a list of things we can do to reduce water consumption, things to cut back would certainly include things like watering the lawn and topping off the swimming pool. Pretty much the next big water thing in the list: laundry.

This is where many Texans have learned that you can reduce your laundry water consumption significantly by simply not doing as much laundry... and the way to do that is to not wear as much clothing or to simply go nude!

Not everyone who goes nude at home call themselves nudists. Indeed, most who don't think of themselves as nudists are pretty unlikely to venture outdoors or tell the neighbors about it!

However, home nudity is certainly one of the most obvious ways one can conserve both water and wear and tear on clothing.

Those who DO call themselves nudists, however, have known all of this for a long time. Aside from water conservation needs, nudists also know that being a nudist can have a decidedly positive impact on the household budget by reducing clothing and laundry expenses.

Even those who live in the city can relate to that!

Lake Edun's Woes Continue - Nudist Libertarians Take Note

Lake Edun's problems with the local authorities continued last weekend as the naturist club attempted to host a fundraiser for the The Libertarian Party of Kansas on their grounds. Without notice, four Shawnee County Sheriff's deputies blocked the entrance to the club with their cruisers, citing the standing court order banning the club from hosting commercial activities.

See the AP article here .

Can someone who is familiar with Kansas law please explain to me under what circumstances a political fundraiser is considered a commercial activity and what circumstances it is not?

Nude Recreation Week Symbolizes our Freedom

Independence day in the USA is celebrated each year on July 4th and has served to generate an appreciation of the hard-won liberation from tyranny that we now tend to take for granted. The historic events that brought this about are documented in many books.

Many US Citizens tend to use the word "freedom" when describing the political and social environment in which we live. However, we citizens are *not* free in the true sense of the word. For example, we have laws, some spelled out in our Constitution, that limit our freedom by defining certain behavior to be a crime. Certainly, most crimes which result in loss of life or loss of property or inflicts demonstrable harm on people are justified and many of our laws reflect this principle.

However there are many laws on the books in many areas that limit the freedom of citizens which define some actions, public nudity for example, that don't result in loss of life or propery or otherwise inflict harm. In fact, recent years have seen a significant increase in the passage of laws and executive orders that effectively take away freedoms our citizens once enjoyed. Most of these laws came to exist because it was claimed that they were needed to increase our "security" in the face of an increasingly terroristic enemy.

Many have publicly stated that this is exactly what our enemies wanted to happen.

Unfortunately though, we as citizens have only ourselves to blame for these problems, not our enemies. It is we who put the elected officials who made this happen in office!

Since we are slowly losing our hard-won liberties, how exactly is a citizen supposed to continue to feel free while watching all this take place?

One thought is this: Nudists have known for many years that their lifestyle offers one such way. They will tell you that there's no better way to experience freedom than to be nude in the great outdoors and feeling the sun and feeling the air on your skin whether alone or in a social setting. And few who have experienced it will dispute that outdoor nudity instills a powerful sense of freedom.

Being a nudist myself, I certainly would not be the most unbiased source on this matter, but my own experiences fall in line with the testimonials I heard early on. It also seems to me that the sense multiplies during Nude Recreation Week (July 10th-16th this year) because I know that many people around our country are experiencing it for the first time.

It occurs to me that nudists may have inadvertently become the de facto, if not official, symbol of freedom in the US, since it seems like they're the only ones still having fun these days! Nude Recreation Week points out that nudism, because it is frequntly a target of lawmakers in many jurisdictions, symbolizes the liberty we continue to enjoy ...despite the long-term erosion processes taking place.

As y'all may have noticed, my blog's been rather quiet lately, and that may be a good thing for some :-D .

However, I'm still here... and still have thoughts to share. Life has kept me pretty busy for the past several months and that's a good thing ...but it's not very conducive to getting one's thoughts together.

Summer is upon us and I have had only a few opportunities to get out in the sun so far this year, but I've promised myself to get out and get more sunshine. The lake water has warmed up into the 80's so I'll probably visit Hippie Hollow in the near future. It's always great to get out there with fellow nudists and experience one of the best swimming holes in the country!

If anyone wants to try to meet up, drop me an email! I'll bring the sunblock!
